Getting Stats Out of FeedBurner

As I switched to FeedBurner to serve the feed for this blog, FeedBurner exposes some usage statistics to me. However, this information is not made public by FeedBurner at this point, which hinders collaborative stats.

I quickly hacked a REST service to get this information from FeedBurner. You are free to use it. The URL is (put this on one line):

http://www.scdi.org/~avernet/misc/get-feedburner-stats
?user=your-user-name&password=your-password&feed-id=your-feed-id

Of course this is far from an idea solution as the FeedBurner password has to be sent to a third-party service. Through this service you view the stats for this blog.

With Spring Comes a New Blog

With spring coming up here in the Northern Hemisphere, this blog was due for a cleanup. And this is what it got! I am now using Blogspot (a service of Blogger) and am serving the XML feed with FeedBurner. The feed now works perfectly with all the major feed readers, and you can add easily add comments to posts.
